MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police has increased the number of PNP personnel who will secure the three-day rallies organized by the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) and another group in Manila and Quezon City.

From 15,000 police officers, National Capital Region Police Office spokesperson Maj. Hazel Asilo said yesterday 16,433 PNP personnel are now part of the security contingent for the rallies of the INC and the United People’s Initiative.

Asilo said there might still be changes in the security deployment for the Nov. 16 to 18 rallies.

Apart from Rizal Park in Manila and the EDSA people power monument, police will also secure other staging grounds for rallies such as the United States embassy and Don Chino Roces Bridge along Mendiola.
