4,570 pass physicians board examination

MANILA, Philippines — Up to 4,570 of the 5,900 examinees passed the Physicians Licensure Examination (PLE) given by the Board of Medicine this month, according to the Professional Regulation Commission.
The PRC said the October 2025 PLE, which was held in various areas nationwide, registered a passing rate of 77 percent.
Kharam Molbog of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) topped the PLE with a rating of 91.17 percent followed by Eris Orlan Muñoz of the University of the East-Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center with 90.67 and Charles Jerome Bartolo of the University of the Philippines-Manila with 90.25 percent.
Applications for the issuance of PRC IDs and certificates of registration will be done online at www.prc.gov.ph starting on Nov. 24.
The PRC has yet to announce the date and venue for the oathtaking of new doctors.
Cash reward
Meanwhile, the provincial government of Nueva Vizcaya will give a cash reward of P200,000 to Molbog for topping the 2025 PLE.
This is the second time for Molbog, a resident of Barangay Quezon in Solano town, to receive the incentive from the provincial government, according to Gov. Jose Jing Gambito.
In 2022, Molbog received the topnotcher’s incentive after placing first in the licensure examination for medical technologists. He completed both courses at UST.
Gambito said Molbog’s achievement proved that grit, humility and world-class excellence could be nurtured in Nueva Vizcaya.
“He is a shining example for our youth and the people of Nueva Vizcaya. The provincial government stands firmly behind achievers like him,” Gambito said.
