Quezon City to aid family of fire victims

MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City government will provide assistance to the family of the three children who died in a fire in Barangay Sto. Domingo on Tuesday.
The local government condoled with the family of the victims.
“In response, the city will shoulder all expenses, from the wake to the cremation of the victims. We will also provide psychosocial intervention to offer strength and support to the family during this time of mourning,” city hall said.
The local government will also extend financial aid and disaster relief packages to all those affected by the fire.
The city government is also eyeing to recommend the fire victims’ inclusion in the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development’s Integrated Disaster Shelter Assistance Program to “help them recover and start anew.”
Quezon City has committed to further strengthening community safety and disaster preparedness, including fires.
“We may not be able to bring back our loved ones, but we can ensure that such a tragedy will never happen again. Together, we will take action to protect every home and every family in the city,” the local government said.
