28 witnesses belie rape charge vs Teodoro

MANILA, Philippines — Marikina City 1st District Rep. Marcelino Teodoro submitted yesterday his counter-affidavit to the Department of Justice (DOJ) in response to the complaints of rape by sexual assault and acts of lasciviousness filed against him by two policewomen.

Twenty-eight witnesses also filed affidavits to belie the allegations of Teodoro’s accusers, including police officers who are colleagues of the complainants. The two were assigned as Teodoro’s close-in security when he was mayor.

Teodoro was accompanied at the DOJ yesterday by his wife, Marikina Mayor Marjorie Ann Teodoro, and lawyer Alma Mallonga.

On Monday, the congressman filed perjury charges against the policewomen before the Manila prosecutor’s office.

He said he is also considering filing complaints against his accusers with the police Internal Affairs Service.
