‘terrorists’ surrender in Maguindanao
ZAMBOANGA CITY , Philippines — Four alleged members of terrorist group Dawlah Islamiyah surrendered to the military in Radjah Buayan, Maguindanao del Norte on Thursday.
The surrendereess turned over four rifles to the Army’s 601st Infantry Brigade in Barangay Zapakan, according to Lt. Col. Venjie Pendon, spokesman for the Western Mindanao Command.
The turnover was witnessed by 601st IB chief Brig. Gen. Edgar Catu and representatives from the municipal governments of Shariff Aguak and Radjah Buayan as well as the Ministry of Public Order and Safety of the Bangsamoro region.
The surrenderees said the relentless security campaign of the military and other law enforcement operations compelled them to return to the fold of the law.
