Marikina councilor slams AI-edited photo with Teodoro
MANILA, Philippines — A Marikina councilor yesterday denounced the spread of an artificial intelligence-generated photograph linking her to the controversy involving 1st District Rep. Marcelino Teodoro, calling it “malicious” and “black propaganda.” “It is saddening, insulting and infuriating to be subjected to this kind of accusation. This is below the belt,” Marikina 2nd District Councilor Jaren Feliciano posted on Facebook.
The image, shared by the Facebook group Marikina Daily News, was edited through AI, according to Feliciano. She posted the original photo alongside the fabricated one.
“This AI-edited photo being circulated online is clearly fake, defamatory and disrespectful,” she said. “Stop using me for your smear campaign. We are not props, memes or tools for your drama.”
Feliciano also defended Teodoro, saying she respects the congressman and his wife, Mayor Marjorie Ann Teodoro.
The congressman is facing charges of rape and acts of lasciviousness filed by two policewomen. He has denied the accusations.
