PDEA destroys P227.4 million drugs in 3 provinces

MANILA, Philippines — Dangerous drugs with an estimated total value of P227.4 million were destroyed in Iloilo, Maguindanao del Norte and Ilocos Sur last week, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said.

The PDEA said P136.718 million of the seized dangerous drugs, controlled precursors and essential chemicals were destroyed at the Iloilo thermal decomposition facility in Barangay Calajunan, Mandurriao district last week.

Another P87 million worth of narcotics was destroyed yesterday using the incinerator of a power plant in Barangay Simuay in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte.

In Ilocos Sur, the PDEA also torched P3.768 million worth of marijuana plants and seedlings in Barangay Licungan, Sugpon town. — Artemio Dumlao
