Infant kidnapped from hospital

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Philippines — A new born boy was kidnapped by a woman who disguised herself as a nurse at the Lingayen District Hospital on Sunday.
Reports from the Pangasinan provincial police office said the alleged kidnapping happened inside the OB-gyne ward, shortly after the child’s 42-year-old father left to settle hospital bills.
Initial investigation showed that a woman, wearing a green scrub suit and a face mask, told the mother that her baby had to be taken for blood testing.
Police launched a search for the baby after Pangasinan Gov. Ramon Guico III ordered an investigation.
In a statement posted on social media, the provincial government assured the victim’s family and the public that a clear update will be provided as soon as all details of the incident are established.
The government also appealed to the public to report to authorities if they have any information about the kidnapping.
