INFANTA, Quezon, Philippines — The municipal government of Infanta has suspended the operations of three companies linked to the Tanay Wind Power Project for allegedly violating regulations and failure to secure necessary permits.

A cease and desist order signed by municipal administrator Rinchel Aurellana suspended the Alternergy Tanay Wind Corp., Wintex Logistics Corp. and Gedi Construction Development Corp.

The firms were allegedly operating without business permits and lacked clearances from concerned government agencies such as the Department of Public Works and Highways, Protected Area Management Board and Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

The companies reportedly failed to comply with the conditions set under the certificate of no objection issued by barangays, lacked documents for their foreign workers and did not coordinate with the local government.

The companies’ operations were reportedly disruptive to local order and welfare.

Representatives of the firms were directed to appear before the municipal legal office on Sept. 24 to respond to the violations.
