Man stabbed 21 times while sleeping

ILOILO CITY, Philippines — A 48-year-old man was killed after he was stabbed 21 times allegedly by the partner of his stepdaughter in San Miguel, Iloilo on Wednesday.

The victim, identified only as Albert, was asleep in their house in Barangay Sto. Niño when he was killed at past 3 a.m.

The victim’s wife told probers that she saw the suspect, identified only as Ian, stab her husband several times in bed.

Reports said that on Tuesday night, the victim and the suspect as well as their friend, Panot, had a drinking session.

A spat erupted between Panot and Ian. The victim reportedly sided with Panot, which made the suspect furious. The victim’s wife said that her husband and the suspect had not been on good terms.
