Sulu ex-mayoral aspirant wanted for murder surrenders

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines —A former mayoral aspirant, wanted for murder, surrendered to the police yesterday in Jolo, Sulu.
According to the Sulu Police Provincial Office, Al-Nednyl Amjad Tulawie voluntarily yielded to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) at Camp Sr. Supt. Julasirim Kasim in Barangay Asturias.
Tulawie, who ran for mayor in Panamao town, was issued a warrant of arrest by Regional Trial Court Judge Sharon May Sales-Belisario on March 27 this year.
No bail was recommended for his release.
Records show that Tulawie shot Troy Resurrecion, Jovert Marcos and James Resurrecion during an altercation in a bar in Barangay Tetuan on Feb. 27.
Tulawie is set to be transferred to the CIDG regional headquarters here before he is presented to the court.
