Drug suspect killed in ‘shootout’

COTABATO CITY, Philippines —  A suspected drug trafficker was killed in an alleged shootout with anti-narcotics agents in Surallah, South Cotabato on Tuesday.

The suspect, identified as Stephen Dagismol, 34, died at the scene of the incident that occurred in Barangay Colongulo.

Reports said Dagismol sold shabu with an estimated street value of P17,000 to undercover police officers in Barangay Colongulo.

Th suspect, who sensed that he was dealing with police, allegedly drew a gun, triggering a firefight that resulted in his death.

Police said the suspect was a major supplier of marijuana and shabu in Surallah and nearby areas.
