P20/kilo rice now available to Luzon fisherfolk

MANILA, Philippines — The government has expanded the implementation of the P20-per-kilo rice program to fisherfolk in Luzon.
The low-cost rice is now available at the Navotas Fish Complex in Metro Manila, Sual Fish Port in Pangasinan and Lucena Fish Port Complex in Quezon.
Fisherfolk and fish port workers listed in the registry system for basic sectors of agriculture may buy up to 10 kilos of rice each month by presenting their RSBSAs or FishR IDs or a valid QR code downloaded from the registration system of the Department of Agriculture (DA).
Starting Sept. 16, jeepney drivers will be eligible for the rice subsidy, the DA said.
Launched in May this year, the P20-per-kilo rice program was first limited to solo parents, senior citizens, 4Ps beneficiaries and persons with disabilities.
