MMDA: Traffic violators at LSGH remain

MANILA, Philippines — Despite the no-contact apprehension policy (NCAP), traffic violators near the La Salle Green Hills (LSGH) persist, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.
MMDA Chairman Romando Artes said over 1,300 traffic violations near LSGH have been recorded between July 11 and Aug. 14.
Illegal parking, obstruction and unauthorized loading and unloading were committed during “peak school hours,” Artes said in a letter to LSGH management.
“Offenders directly contribute to traffic congestion, compromising not only the flow of vehicles, but also public safety and commuter welfare along Ortigas Avenue,” he said.
The LSGH management should implement stricter internal traffic management measures and cooperate with the MMDA to enforce joint traffic management strategies, according to Artes.
In July, the MMDA informed the managements of LSGH and St. Pedro Poveda College about traffic congestion along EDSA and Ortigas Avenue, which prompted the agency to enforce NCAP to minimize gridlocks.
