Marcos picks Acuzar to head Pasig River office

MANILA, Philippines — President Marcos has formed an office dedicated to the rehabilitation of Pasig River.

The Office of the Presidential Adviser on Pasig River Rehabilitation will oversee and ensure the implementation of the waterway’s restoration and development.

“Converging concerned state agencies is needed to… improve water quality, restore marine life and develop Pasig River’s banks, tributaries and surrounding communities,” Marcos said in Executive Order 92 signed on Aug. 13.

Presidential Adviser for Pasig River Rehabilitation Jose Rizalino Acuzar will lead the new office.

Marcos issued EO 92 two years after the creation of the Inter-Agency Council for the Pasig River Urban Development.
