MMDA: Number coding scheme suspended on August 21

MANILA, Philippines — The number coding scheme will be suspended on August 21, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said on Monday, August 18. 

According to the MMDA, the number coding scheme will be suspended on Thursday, August 21, in commemoration of the Ninoy Aquino Day. 

“Suspendido ang pagpapatupad ng expanded number coding scheme sa Huwebes, Agosto 21, isang special non-working holiday para sa paggunita ng Ninoy Aquino Day,” the MMDA said. 

(The implementation of the expanded number coding scheme is suspended on Thursday, August 21, a special non-working holiday for the commemoration of Ninoy Aquino Day.)

“Awtomatikong sinususpinde ang number coding tuwing official at special non-working holidays,” it added.

(The number coding scheme is automatically suspended on all official and special non-working holidays.)

The MMDA also reminded the public to plan their route and follow traffic regulations. 

The Malacanang last year declared August 21 as a special non-working holiday.
