2 killed in Bataan vehicular accident

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — Two women were killed when a car rearended a tricycle in Hermosa, Bataan yesterday morning.

The fatalities, identified as Karmina Isabell Calanoc and Marielle Turla, were declared dead on arrival at the Dinalupihan District Hospital due to severe injuries.

Investigation showed the victims were traveling along the Roman Superhighway in Barangay Palihan at around 5:50 a.m. when a Ford Ranger, driven by a certain Jose, hit their tricycle.

The impact caused the tricycle to crash into a power post, according to Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr., Central Luzon police director.

The driver was taken to the Hermosa police for investigation.
