P9 million fake footwear seized in Pasay

MANILA, Philippines — Counterfeit footwear products worth P9.14 million were confiscated in Pasay City, the police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group reported yesterday.
CIDG director Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano said the footwear – consisting of 3,058 pairs of Vans and Puma shoes as well as Crocs flippers – were seized during simultaneous raids on three warehouses in Barangay 77 on Aug. 7.
The alleged owner of the warehouses, a Chinese national known only as Zen, was arrested.
The suspect is facing complaints for violating Republic Act 8293, the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.
