P3.5 million shabu seized in Davao del Norte

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Shabu with an estimated street value of P3.5 million was seized in a sting in Carmen, Davao del Norte on Friday.
The anti-narcotics operation in Barangay Ising also resulted in the arrest of a drug suspect, who yielded 527 kilos of shabu.
The sting was conducted by a joint team of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the local police.
Probers said the suspect was a major drug supplier in Carmen and Tagum City.
The suspect was detained at the PDEA detention facility and will be charged for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, two people including a 16-year-old girl were arrested for alleged possession of shabu with an estimated street value of P3.4 million in Barangay Poblacion V in this city.
The minor was turned over to the city social development and welfare office. Her 38-year-old companion was detained at the Cotabato City police station, according to Brig. Gen. Edwin Quilates, chief of the Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group.
