Woman killed in Bulacan mishap

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — A female motorcycle rider was killed after she was ran over by a truck in Plaridel, Bulacan yesterday morning.

Eloisa Santiago of Pandi town was declared dead on arrival at the La Consolacion Hospital.

Reports said Santiago was traveling along the Plaridel Access Road in Barangay Parulan at past 8 a.m. when she reportedly tried to overtake the truck.

The motorcycle reportedly skidded, causing Santiago to fall and be ran over by the truck, according to Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr., acting chief of the Central Luzon police.

The truck driver, identified only as Jun, surrendered to authorities. He will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, probers said.
