MANILA, Philippines — The Light Rail Transit Authority has temporarily suspended full operations on LRT Line 2 following a lightning strike that damaged the catenary wire near Antipolo Station.

In a social media post on Tuesday at 3 p.m., the LRT administration announced its train services are currently running on a limited route between Recto Station and Araneta Center-Cubao Station only, with trains operating in both directions along this shortened line.

The LRT administration advised passengers to monitor their social media pages for further updates regarding the restoration of full service to all stations along the line.

No timeline has been provided for when normal operations will resume at the eastern terminus at Antipolo Station.
