Grenade hurled at property of mayorâ��s supporter

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — A grenade hurled by two motorcycle-riding men destroyed a property owned by a supporter of Zamboanga City Mayor Khymer Olaso before dawn yesterday.

Probers said Melvin Quintos, 49, and his family were asleep at their home in Barangay Pasonanca when the grenade exploded at around 3:22 a.m.

The explosion shattered glass windows and destroyed plants in Quinto’s front yard.

Video footage from a closed-circuit television camera installed in the property showed two men fleeing on a motorcycle seconds before the explosion.
