18 ex-rebels given safe conduct passes

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY , Philippines —  Eighteen former New People’s Army guerrillas who availed themselves of the amnesty program have been given safe conduct passes by the National Amnesty Commission (NAC).

The passes were distributed during a ceremony held at Camp Evangelista in Barangay Patag in this city on Wednesday.

The event, deemed as a testament to the government’s commitment to peace and reconciliation, was led by NAC chief Jamar Kulayan and other officials as well as members of the Army and police.
