CAAP tightens procedures for license issuance

MANILA, Philippines — Stricter procedures and security measures are in place for the issuance of aviation licenses following the arrest of a man who sold fake documents last week, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines.
In a statement, CAAP said its licensing system involves multiple layers of verification and documentation to prevent fraudulent applications.
The system ensures accountability and maintains public trust in the country’s aviation sector, the agency added.
The CAAP said applicants are required to submit complete supporting documents, including training certificates and academic records from accredited aviation schools, before they could be certified as pilots, aircraft mechanics, flight dispatchers or air traffic controllers.
According to CAAP, the agency is taking seriously reports of the sale of fake aviation licenses and is working closely with law enforcement agencies to identify and prosecute those responsible.
