CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Except in Cavite, police directors in four provinces in Calabarzon have been replaced along with 18 municipal and city police chiefs in the region.

The reshuffle is part of an ongoing reorganization being implemented by the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Cols. Ricardo Dalmacia of Laguna, Jack Malinao of Batangas, Felipe Marragun of Rizal and Ruben Lacuesta of Quezon were replaced by Cols. Jonar Yupio, Geovanny Sibalo, Feloteo Conzaldo and Romulo Albacea, respectively.

Col. Dwight Alegre, acting Cavite police director, remained in his post.

Meanwhile, 18 municipal and city police chiefs, including 10 in Laguna, seven in Cavite and one in Rizal have also been replaced.

Batangas and Quezon were not affected by the reshuffle of municipal and city police chiefs.

Among those replaced in Laguna were the chiefs of police of the cities of San Pedro, Cabuyao and Calamba as well as the municipalities of Alaminos, Bay, Famy, Mabitac, Pagsanjan, Pila and Sta. Cruz.

Most of these police chiefs were placed on floating status, while some were reassigned to other provinces.

In Cavite, the chiefs of police of Bacoor, Carmona, Cavite City, General Mariano Alvarez, Kawit, Naic and Trece Martirez were among those affected by the reorganization.

Earlier, PNP chief Gen. Nicolas Torres III dismissed from the service a police chief in Rizal for failing to act on a robbery incident.
