Teves arraignment deferred

MANILA, Philippines — A Manila court has deferred to July 14 the arraignment of expelled Negros Oriental lawmaker Arnolfo Teves Jr. as he recuperates from appendectomy at the Philippine General Hospital.
Judge Renato Enciso of the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 12 granted the motion of Teves, who suffered from complications following his appendectomy.
Teves would attend the hearing through video conference, the court noted.
On June 5, the court entered a not guilty plea for Teves on charges of illegal possession of firearms and explosives.
Teves is facing murder charges over the killing of Negros Oriental governor Roel Degamo and nine others in March 2023.
