‘Tube-fed Teves on painkillers’

MANILA, Philippines — Complications following his appendectomy have put expelled Negros Oriental lawmaker Arnolfo Teves Jr. on a feeding tube and painkillers, his lawyer said yesterday.
Teves is suffering from intense pain as high as “10/10” due to post-operative complications, according to Ferdinand Topacio said.
Teves needs the attention of a pain management doctor as he cannot take food or drink orally, Topacio said.
“He is currently on round-the-clock observation by medical professionals,” Topacio said.
Teves underwent an appendectomy at the Philippine General Hospital last week.
A discharge date has not been set for Teves, who is facing murder charges over the killing of Negros Oriental governor Roel Degamo and nine others in March 2023.
