1 dead in Antique bus, van collision
ILOILO CITY, Philippines — A driver was killed after his van collided with a passenger bus in Pandan town in Antique yesterday morning.
Alias Dioleto, 63, a resident of Barangay Jumarap, Banga, Aklan died at the scene following the incident that also left his van totally wrecked.
Surveillance video footage showed the van speeding on a rainy Monday morning as it was navigating a curve along Barangay Fragante.
The van, which came from Nabas town in Aklan, overshot into the opposite lane and collided with an incoming Ceres passenger bus. The bus then crashed into a house by the roadside.
Col. Lea Rose Peña, Antique police chief, said the bus was carrying 19 people, including the driver and conductor.
Reports said the bus driver, Arnil Amarillo, 48, of Barangay San Francisco Sur, Tibiao, Antique, the conductor and the 17 passengers suffered multiple injuries.
