Pulse Asia denies pro-Duterte survey

MANILA, Philippines — A survey showing the Dutertes winning over their political opponents and supposedly conducted by Pulse Asia has been denied by the research organization.
The survey, which was posted on the Facebook page of the Maisug Mindanao, was allegedly conducted from April 26 to May 6.
It showed former president Rodrigo Duterte leading by 55 percent over Karlo Nograles, his opponent for the mayoral post.
The same survey showed other members of the Duterte family seeking elective posts leading over their rivals.
However, the survey, which was reported by local newspapers, was not conducted by Pulse Asia.
“We wish to clarify that Pulse Asia did not conduct any of this survey,” Ronald Holmes, Pulse Asia Research Inc. president, said in a statement. “Since our founding in 1999, Pulse Asia has upheld the highest professional standards in conducting surveys and research.”
Holmes said Pulse Asia denounced any unauthorized use of the research group’s name to disseminate false or misleading information.
