SBMA holds Labor Day job fair

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT, Philippines — The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) will celebrate Labor Day with a job fair at the Harbor Point Ayala Mall here today.

More than 2,300 job opportunities will be offered by 45 participating companies from around the freeport, according to Melvin Varias, manager of the SBMA labor center department.

Varias said that aside from the job fair, the Labor Day celebration would feature a fun run and singing competition.

Job seekers will be treated to a free massage service, he said.

“Last year, 26 jobseekers were hired instantly in a similar activity held during Labor Day. Most of them were hired by a popular shoe manufacturing company based at the freeport. Two were hired by a consultancy firm,” Varias said.
