MANILA, Philippines — Speaker breaks ground for PCMC pediatric center
A Center for Advanced Pediatric Services will be established at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC) in Quezon City.
At yesterday’s groundbreaking ceremony, Speaker Martin Romualdez thanked doctors, nurses and hospital staff for their service as they celebrated the 45th anniversary of PCMC.
The 20-story building will be equipped with 500 beds and state-of-the-art medical technology.
A modern cancer center and subspecialty services for infectious diseases, nephrology, cardiology, pulmonology, endocrinology and neurology, as well as surgical services, intensive care units for critically ill children and rehabilitation will be established in the facility.
Attendees at the ceremony were PCMC deputy executive director for education, training and research Dr. Mary Ann Bunyi, PCMC deputy executive director for hospital support services Dr. Cecilia Gan, Quezon City health department officer-in-charge Dr. Ramona Abarquez, Health Undersecretary Elmer Punzalan as well as Public Works and Highways Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo.
