Brains in Subic murder nabbed in Malaysia
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — After six years in hiding, the alleged mastermind in the murder of a businessman in Subic Bay has been arrested in Malaysia.
Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, Central Luzon police director, said Alan Dennis Sytin was arrested at the Cobra Rugby Club in Petaling Jaya in Selangor province on Saturday.
Sytin, who has a P10-million bounty on his head, was implicated in the murder of his brother, Dominic Sytin, president and founder of United Auctioneers Inc.
Records showed the killing occurred on Nov. 28, 2018 at the Subic Bay Freeport.
The arrest was made possible through cooperation between the Central Luzon and Royal Malaysia police, Fajardo said.
The gunman, Edgardo Luib, confessed that Sytin plotted the murder of his brother.
Efforts are being undertaken for the repatriation of the suspect.
