Arrest warrant vs Darryl Yap recalled

MANILA, Philippines — A Muntinlupa court recalled the warrant issued for the arrest of film director Darryl Yap on Wednesday.

Judge Myra Quiambao of the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 203 ordered Yap’s arrest for two counts of cyberlibel related to the teaser of his movie “The Rapists of Pepsi Paloma.”

Yap posted bail of P20,000, prompting Quiambao to rescind the arrest warrant.

Actor Vic Sotto filed the case against Yap after the television host was mentioned in the teaser as the one who allegedly raped Paloma.

Yap will be arraigned on March 26.
