MALOLOS, Bulacan, Philippines — The number of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) cases logged in Bulacan reach 640 from Jan. 1 to Feb. 22, or over 1,000 percent when compared to the 58 cases recorded over the same period last year.

To control the rise in cases, the Provincial Health Office is implementing a series of strategic interventions that include the mobilization of community volunteers for fever surveillance and early detection as well as cleanup drives and disinfection activities in schools, playgrounds and markets.

Gov. Daniel Fernando emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in controlling HFMD and urged Bulakeños to remain proactive in observing health protocols.
