MANILA, Philippines — Minimum wage earners and household workers or kasambahay in Bicol may receive a higher take-home pay after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) scheduled public consultations on their petition for a salary increase.

The RTWPB-Bicol said private sector workers and employers as well as kasambahay are invited to participate in public hearings on March 7 and 10 in Camarines Sur and Albay, respectively.

“This is an important opportunity for both sectors to share their opinions and concerns about the possible wage adjustment,” the RTWPB said.

The board said that participation of all stakeholders is vital in granting fair wages and ensuring workers’ rights and economic stability.

Last year, the RTWPB-Bicol deferred the wage deliberation due to the effects of successive typhoons that hit the region.
