BI arrests 2 Chinese fugitives at NAIA

MANILA, Philippines — Immigration officers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) arrested two Chinese fugitives who attempted to flee the country for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in February.
Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said Huang Xianjun, 37, and Li Xiao Long, 23, were intercepted at the NAIA Terminal 3 departure area before they could board their flights.
Huang and Li were included in the Bureau of Immigration watchlist for being undesirable aliens due to criminal cases filed against them in China.
They were brought to the BI custodial facility at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig pending deportation proceedings.
BI records showed that Huang, who was placed under an Interpol red notice on Nov. 8, attempted to depart from the NAIA on Feb. 15.
Huang has a warrant of arrest issued by the municipal public security bureau in Changzhou, China for telecommunications fraud.
Li also has a warrant issued by the Hechuan public security bureau in Chongqing, China for his alleged involvement in economic crimes.
He was also found to have previously worked for an offshore gaming company in Manila.
