MANILA, Philippines — Minimum wage earners in Davao region are expected to receive a higher take-home pay after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) approved an increase of P29 in their daily salary.

The RTWPB-Davao region said the salary hike for workers in the private sector would take effect starting March 7.

“The increase was granted after a thorough review and evaluation of existing socio-economic conditions and consultations with stakeholders and the general public,” the wage board said in a post on social media.

The order increased to P510 from P481 the minimum daily pay of workers in the non-agriculture sector, and to P505 from P476 for workers in the agriculture sector.
