MANILA, Philippines — Two dams in Luzon continued to release water amid the rains brought by successive typhoons.
As of 8 a.m. yesterday, two gates of Binga Dam in Benguet were still opened at 0.8 meters, releasing water at 124.75 cubic meters per second (cms) after reaching its normal high water level of 575 meters.
One gate of Ambuklao Dam was also opened at 0.3 meters, releasing water at 54.73 cms after it reached 751.75 meters, or 0.25 meters below its normal high water level of 752 meters.
The gates of the other dams in Luzon – Magat, Angat, Ipo, La Mesa, San Roque and Pantabangan – remained closed as their water levels are still below normal or below the spilling levels.
