CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Four people were arrested for allegedly attempting to sell a stolen vehicle in San Pedro City in this province on Sunday night.

The suspects – identified as Marla Marcelo, 37; Pia Martinez, 38; Dennise Creencia, 20, and Anthony Bautista, 54 – were charged with fencing before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor.

Investigation showed the suspects were collared by members of the Highway Patrol Group unit of the Cavite police at past 7 p.m., according to Col. Rommel Estolano, chief of the HPG-Calabarzon.

The arrest stemmed from a complaint filed by Letecia Suzon, 58, of General Trias, Cavite, who told police that her car was taken by her business partner on Oct. 6.

The HPG-Cavite received information that the suspects were planning to sell Suzon’s vehicle.

An HPG agent posed as a buyer and contacted Marcelo and Bautista, who agreed to meet up with him in San Pedro.

Martinez and Creencia reportedly drove Suzon’s car to the venue, prompting authorities to arrest the suspects.
