Quiboloy transferred to children’s hospital
MANILA, Philippines — Alleged child sexual abuser Apollo Quiboloy was transferred to a children’s hospital in Quezon City for medical tests, the Philippine National Police (PNP) confirmed yesterday.
Quiboloy briefly visited the Philippine Children’s Medical Center to undergo medical tests requiring specialized equipment, according to PNP public information office chief Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo.
The religious leader returned to the Philippine Heart Center where he will remain until the end of his court-approved medical furlough on Friday, Fajardo said.
Quiboloy is expected to return to the PNP custodial facility at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
The court denied Quiboloy’s request to receive visitors during his stay at the Heart Center, Fajardo noted.
Medical findings from Quiboloy’s tests are being relayed to the PNP General Hospital. Fajardo declined to disclose further details.
“We will provide updates once all the tests are complete and any developments will be directed by the court regarding Quiboloy’s status,” Fajardo said.
A Pasig court on Nov. 8 granted Quiboloy medical furlough due to chest discomfort.
Quiboloy is facing charges of qualified human trafficking and sex abuse filed before the Pasig and Quezon City courts.
