Mark Ernest Villeza - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — A Vietnamese national was arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for allegedly selling party drugs in Pasay.

The suspect is said to be a drug supplier for workers of Philippine offshore gaming operators.

The Vietnamese was apprehended by personnel of the NBI Dangerous Drugs Division (DDD) after reportedly selling Ecstasy and ketamine to agents posing as buyers.

NBI-DDD chief Jonathan Galicia said the operation involved an online payment followed by the delivery of drugs to buyers.

The seized drugs were valued at approximately P30,000.

A search of the suspect’s condominium unit in Pasay also led to the alleged recovery of a sachet containing ketamine and an unlicensed .45-caliber firearm.

According to Galicia, the suspect admitted to selling illegal drugs to Vietnamese nationals and other foreign customers.

The suspect is facing charges of violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, and RA 10591 for illegal possession of firearms.
