Former actor held for Pal’s murder

MANILA, Philippines — Former actor John Wayne Sace was arrested yesterday after he allegedly shot dead his friend in Pasig City.

Sace, 35, was apprehended by police in a hotel in Barangay Oranbo at 6:15 a.m., Pasig police chief Col. Hendrix Mangaldan said.

Mangaldan said Sace sought refuge in the hotel after he allegedly killed Lynell Eugenio in Barangay Sagad on Monday night.

Probers said Eugenio was on his way home when Sace followed him. The suspect fired at the victim multiple times with a .45-caliber handgun.

Police said they are looking into personal grudge as the possible motive for the killing since Sace and Eugenio had been at odds.

Sace refused to comment when reporters asked him what happened between him and the victim.

Hours after the shooting, Sace posted on his Facebook account, accusing “someone of plotting to kill him and his family.”

The former actor also mentioned a person involved in illegal drugs and robbery.

Sace is facing charges of murder and illegal gun possession.
