MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.2 earthquake jolted Zamboanga del Norte before dawn yesterday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
Phivolcs said the temblor occurred at 12:22 a.m. and its epicenter was located 21 kilometers south of Siayan town.
Instrumental Intensity 1 was recorded in Molave, Zamboanga del Sur.
The quake, which was tectonic in origin, was not expected to cause damage to property or generate aftershocks.
