P2 million reward up for arrest of hotpot shooting suspect

Christine Boton - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines —  A reward of P2 million has been offered for any information that could lead to the arrest of a Chinese shooting suspect in a hotpot restaurant in Makati.

Police said the alleged gunman, Wang Danyu, also known as Wang Dan Yu or Bao Long, is wanted for the death of his fellow Chinese Liu Jiabin, 29.

Probers said Wang allegedly fired at Liu four times in the restaurant following a heated argument on Oct. 17.

The incident was recorded on closed-circuit television footage.

Wang fled the scene with an unidentified Chinese national, police said.

Authorities have warned the public that Wang is armed and dangerous.

“Take no action to apprehend the suspect yourself,” police said. “If you have any information about his whereabouts, please notify the nearest police station or contact the Makati police at 0929-793-6525.”

All information will be treated with strict confidentiality, police said.

Authorities urged anyone with knowledge of Wang’s location to come forward and help bring justice for the victim.
