MANILA, Philippines — The last batch of Filipino crewmembers of M/V Minoan Courage, which was attacked by Houthi rebels while cruising the Red Sea near Yemen, returned home yesterday.
The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said 10 Filipino seafarers arrived in Manila on an Etihad Airways flight.
“They are the last batch of repatriates aboard the Greek bulker,” the DMW said.
The agency said all 21 seafarers were repatriated through the joint efforts of the government, licensed manning agencies and the shipowner.
The Filipino workers will receive financial aid from the agency’s AKSYON Fund and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration.
