MANILA, Philippines — Ninety wanted persons were apprehended in Quezon City in one week, police reported yesterday.

Col. Melecio Buslig Jr., director of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), said the fugitives were arrested from Oct. 1 to Oct. 7.

Buslig said 44 of the suspects are listed as most wanted persons. Forty-six are on the QCPD’s wanted list for various offenses.

Among those arrested were Elrick Bryan Sanico and Carmen Macura, listed as No. 10 and No. 9 most wanted, respectively.

Sanico, 25, was apprehended in Barangay Batasan Hills on Oct. 3, based on a warrant of arrest issued by a Quezon City court for acts of lasciviousness.

Police served a warrant of arrest on Macura, who is detained at the Quezon City Jail female dormitory, for two counts of syndicated illegal recruitment.

“We are determined to track down and arrest all those who pose a threat to public safety. This is a warning to fugitives that they cannot hide from the long arm of justice,” Buslig said.
