Marbil shuffles 5 top cops

MANILA, Philippines — Five top officials of the Philippine National Police were reshuffled on Saturday by PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil.

Marbil designated Maj. Gen. Sidney Hernia as director of the National Capital Region Police Office, replacing Maj. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.

Nartatez was appointed officer-in-charge of the Office of the Deputy Chief for Administration.

Hernia is currently the director of personnel and records management. He will be replaced by Brig. Gen. Constancio Torayan Chinayog Jr. of the PNP Forensics Group.

Brig. Gen. Benjamin de Leon Sembrano of the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO) will replace Chinayog.

Intelligence Group chief Col. Jeffrey Zafe Decena will be assigned to PRO3.

Their new assignments will take effect on Oct. 9.
