MANILA, Philippines — Some roads in the cities of Pasay, Manila and Makati might see a slowdown of vehicular traffic to give way to the 2024 Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR) to be held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) next week, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
In an advisory, the MMDA said it would “implement a stop-and-go scheme along the routes from the airport to billeting hotels in Pasay, Manila and Makati and then to the PICC-CCP (Cultural Center of the Philippines) Complex” from Oct. 12 to 19.
Meanwhile, the agency will close to traffic Magdalena Jalandoni Street, between Star City and the PICC at the CCP complex from Oct. 14 to 19.
The MMDA reminded motorists to avoid these said roads and use alternate routes for their upcoming trips during the said period.
The APMCDRR is organized by the Philippine government and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction.
