ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — A policeman was wounded when unidentified men hurled a grenade at a police outpost in Isabela, Basilan on Sunday night.

Pat. Aldimar Salahuddin immediately returned to his post in Barangay Sunrise after receiving treatment for a wound on the shoulder.

Lt. Col. Parson Asadil, Isabela police chief, said the attack occurred several hours before the declaration of Isabela City as free from Abu Sayyaf bandits yesterday morning.

Brig. Gen. Alvin Luzon, chief of the Armys 101st Infantry Brigade, expressed belief the incident had nothing to do with the declaration.
