MANILA, Philippines — Four drug suspects, including a Chinese, were arrested after they were caught with methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu worth P3.12 million in Taytay, Rizal and in Iloilo City over the weekend.
Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta, Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) director, said agents arrested a 58-year-old Chinese man in Barangay Sta. Ana in Taytay late Friday for trading 100 grams of shabu worth P680,000.
Matta said the suspect is a prominent drug supplier who operates in Metro Manila and Calabarzon.
“We will strive to continue dismantling the syndicate behind him,” Matta said.
Meanwhile, around 360 grams of shabu with a street value of P2.44 million were confiscated in Iloilo City yesterday.
Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, Western Visayas police director, said the illegal drugs were recovered from four suspects he identified only as Dan-Dan, Tito, Junior and Ros during a sting in Barangay Sooc.
